Imphal, April 06 2010:
The Movement for Tribal People's Rights Manipur (MTPRM) has appealed to the JAC of 2006 ADC Teacher Appointees to call off their 72 hours general strike scheduled to begin from the midnight of April 6 in the interest of general public.
Saying that the SPF Government has been working hard for the upliftment of hill people which no other Governments have ever done in the past, the MTPRM, through a press release, called upon the JAC to acknowledge the 'technical difficulties' and other problems being faced by the Government in the process to declare the DPC results.
It remarked that the State Government has been making appointment of teachers of different categories to address the problem of teacher shortage in hill districts.
The MTPRM also appealed to the Government to ensure that results of the DPC are declared at the earliest before the election code of conduct comes into force.
