Imphal, April 06 2010:
State Chief Minister, O Ibobi along with some of his Cabinet colleagues and an MLA today visited the Thongnambonbi bridge where the pump house of Imphal Sewerage Project is to be constructed and also inspected the progress of the works being taken up for the Naga nullah Project.
PHED Minister, TN Haokip, Works Minister, K Ranjit, IFCD Minister, N Biren, Education Minister, L Jayentakumar, PDA Chairman, Dr Kh Loken and engineers of the departments concerned accompanied the Chief Minister and the Ministers during the inspection visit.
The pump house to be installed at the place will connect the pipes of the sewerage project from Thangmeiband, Uripok and Moirangkhom, etc.
and pump in waste and toilet materials for pumping onward to the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) proposed to be constructed at Lamphel.
The project is being taken up by the state PHED with a view to keeping clean the Imphal city, and other pump houses will be installed at Keishampat, North AOC and MSRTC complex at Moirangkhom.
The project is expected to complete by next year.
After inspecting the pipe laying works along the stretch of the Langol road of the same project, the team led by the Chief Minister also inspected the work progress at Naga nullah Project.
