The activist of the NSCN (K) who was among the three who threatened to strand Imphal bound truck ferrying rice and sugar of FCI was identified as Sunny Anal, a self style sergeant of the outfit hailing from Manipur.
The two other escaped from the hand of the Dimapur police were identified as SS Corporal Lovejoy and SS Sergeant Hopenary.
They were sent from Manipur under the command of Abei Anal chairman Chandel region to warn the drivers not to move their trucks from the campus of the FCS at Dimapur, report published in Nagaland Post today said.
The report said that a total of 78 Manipur bound trucks carrying essential commodities which were purportedly detained under orders by the NSCN(K) in Manipur for failure to pay a demand of Rs.50 lakh, were escorted to their destination following the intervention of Dimapur police and other authorities.
Dimapur police was reported as saying that the trucks were stranded in Dimapur due to non-receipt of challans and expenses for food by the truck drivers from the Imphal-based transporters.
This was also corroborated by drivers in Dimapur.
As stated by the SP Dimapur Liremo claimed that Police had not received any information either from the Manipur government nor the carriage contractors regarding the incident.
Lotha also said that the matter came to light only after the arrest of one NSCN(K)activists identified as self style sergeant Sunny Anal on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, reports here said that all the trucks arrived at Imphal before the commencement of the 12-hour Chakka bandh in hill districts which also cover Imphal-Mao section of the NH-39 .
