Imphal, April 06 2010:
With the inauguration of a Govt building today, Sajik Tampak is feeling the presence of State Govt for the first time in ages.
Declared a liberated zone by insurgent outfits until they were flushed out by security forces a few years back, Sajik Tampak was virtually beyond the administrative bound of the State Government.
Health and Family Welfare Minister inaugurated a two-room building of a Public Health Sub-Centre in what could be a turning point towards extension of State administration in remote areas.
Speaking at the occasion, Parijat said that the Government should be ashamed in the face of welfare activities taken up by Assam Rifles in the area.

The inaugural function was graced by Parijat as chief guest, Chandel A/C MLA Thangkholun Haokip as president and Family Welfare Director Dr S Ibomcha and Commandant of 8 AR Col Ravinder Kumar as guests of honour.
Saying that the old building of the PHSC would be used as quarters of centre's staff, Parijat exuded that this would enable the staff to remain stationed at their place of posting.
He appealed to the villagers to extend cooperation to medical staff posted at the PHSC.
Though the PHSC cannot be upgraded to a PHC at present, one doctor would be permanently posted at the PHSC once the process for recruitment of 401 doctors through MPSC is completed, the Health Minister said.
Stating that the State Government has been undertaking various welfare programmes at the district and local levels, Parijat appealed to the people to avail themselves the benefits of these schemes after learning about these schemes.
He went on to claim that the SPF Government has been paying special attention to hill districts.
The Health Minister was peeved when he found only one male health worker was present at the PHSC while two nurses posted there were absent.
He quizzed the concerned officials about the non-attendance.
