The world Health Day will be observed tomorrow at different places in the state by different organisations.
This year's theme of the day is on "Urban Health Matters" with campaign "1000 Cities, 1000 Lives" .
Indian Medical Association (IMA) will observe the World Health Day by organising various activities from April 7 to 11 .
The inaugural function of the observance will be held at 2.30 pm tomorrow at the IMA hall at Lamphel.
Honorary Secretary, IMA, Dr Akoijam Brogen informed in a press release that school students will be sensitised on Urban Health Problems and the Impact of Deformed Environment on Health from April 8 to 10 .
An interaction session mainly organised for the media persons and volunteers will be held on April 11.Experts will speak at the session, Dr Brogen further informed.
The Manipur Voluntary Health Association, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapan will also observe the World Health Day 2010 with the theme "1000 Cities, 1000 Lives" at 11 am at MVHA conference hall.
MLA Dr I Ibohalbi and president of MVHA, Y Surchandra will be the chief guest and the president respectively.
Project Director (Tech), MACS, Dr Kh Pramodkumar, Regional Director, Regional Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of India, Dr N Inaoba, Associate Prof, Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Dr RK Lenin and State Consultant, UNICEF, Manipur, Arun Meitram will be the guests of honour at the observance function.
The Vision Foundation, Manipur and the Kangla Accupressure will jointly organise a function to observe the World Health Day under the theme "Urbanisation and Health" at Hotel Nirmala, Thangal Bazar here tomorrow.
The observance is sponsored by Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS).
