NGO opposes fund transfer

Imphal, March 24 2010:
Surajkumar, secretary ESHOR , an NGO working for HIV/AIDS, opposed the planning of transferring the funds for the people living with HIV/ AIDS (PLWHA) in the North East (NE) region to the Government of India by the Clinton Foundation, a foreign donor for the affected people to the NE region.
He stated this while attending a function of the nutrition food to the children living with AIDS held Wednesday at Imphal.
The Clinton Foundation which has reportedly been funding to PLWHA in the NE region.
However, the foundation is reportedly planning to transfer the fund to the Government of India stating that the region is sustainable.
