Deputy Director-I of MOBC Dr Lokhol who has been placed under suspension over his involvement in a major financial scam reportedly called on MOBC Minister to request for revoking the suspension order with the pledge that the swindled amount would be handed over.
Talking to mediapersons in his office chamber today, MOBC Minister Md Allaudin revealed that suspended Dr Lokhol came to him with the request for revoking the suspension order and assured that Rs 15 lakhs would be refunded on April 14 and the remaining in the subsequent months.
Stating that he came to know about the missing of the amount meant for payment of scholarships and other schemes which were deposited in the account of the DDO after it was reported by the Director, the Minister also refuted the charges of withdrawing Rs 30 lakhs for TA/DA.
However, in the explanation submitted to the Principal Secretary (MOBC), Dr Lokhol had clearly mentioned that a sum of Rs 10,00,000 had been drawn against the TA/DA advance of the Minister.
The Minister said consequent to detection of the scam, the Deputy Director was suspended and the case handed over to the Vigilance for investigation.
A letter had also been written to the AG for a special audit.
Minister Allaudin said that when asked to come for clarification to the press, the suspended Deputy Director had assured that he would come.
But his mobile phone has been kept on switch-off mode.
He also clarified that the schemes to be implemented were not under the Ministry of Minorities Affairs but from the State Plan.
