Imphal, March 24 2010: Two of the three youths who frighten people with guns caught were taken into custody by the Assam Rifles while the third one managed to escape.

The incident took place last night at Langthabal Kunja Moirang Suda under Singjamei police station last night.

Briefing the media persons tonight at a press conference held at MPP office, president of the Langthabal Kunja Iputhou Khuman Pakhangba Lai Committee, Ch Ningthembi and its general secretary N Jatishwor said that the incident occurred last night at about 8 pm when the three youths with guns in their hands coming on a Maruti Car 800 came there, caused frighten to the people at the Lai Haroupham.

On seeing the three youths moved to and fro at place, some local people asked them to take care of while moving amidst the people.

Instantly, they left the place only to come back again and asked for those who ordered them.

They come back again and take out a big gun and a small gun put Ibochou, Rajen, Subhas, Ibohal and Gopal under gun point and after threatening them left the spot again.

People chased after the vehicle caught two of them while a Tata Magic vehicle was accidentally found blocking their way as one of them with the big gun escaped by jumping down from the vehicle on seeing people rushing near them.

Two of them caught with a small gun were taken into custody by the Assam Rifles posting at Singjamei Chinga Makha who came there.

After the incident today, about 3.30 pm, a team of Assam Rifles came and demanded a small gun saying that one is left behind.

Again, a team of police commandos attached at Wangoi Police Station poured down their angers to the locals for not handing over the two youths to them.

They also picked up the car left behind the three youths.

Meanwhile, MLA O Joy today expressed concern over the police and security forces turning towards the people when they could not nabbed armed men and drew the attention of the authority for appropriate action towards the police and security forces.
