Chandel SP would meet his Myanmarese counterpart stationed at Tamu tomorrow and take up the matter concerning the arrest of four Indians by Myanmar police after crossing the international boundary from Kangpat, Ukhrul district.
Meanwhile, the Pettigrew College Teachers' Association termed the Myanmar police transgressing into India as humiliating the country.
Urging the Government to affect release of all the arrested citizens, the association has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.
Incidentally, one of the arrested individual is a lecturer of Pettigrew College.
Following a report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul to the Home Department, the matter has been forwarded to the Union Home Ministry.
The Home Department has also instructed the DGP to initiate necessary procedures, conveyed a source.
As per the instruction of the Home Department, the DGP directed the Chandel SP to take up the matter with his Myanmarese counterpart stationed at Tamu.
Chandel SP K Radheshyam reached Moreh today.
He would be talking with his Myanmarese counterpart at Tamu tomorrow to secure release of the arrested individuals.
On the other hand, it is reported that hearing of the four arrested individuals was held today at Tamu.
However, definite information about the hearing could not be obtained.
