Imphal, January 30: The body of Salam Angouba alias Amrit of Keibul Lamjao Thana Leirak, who was found shot dead by unidentified persons at Thinungei Mamang Mayai Leikai under Bishnupur PS on the night of Jan 28 has been handed over to his family members after postmortem conducted at RIMS today.

After the body was taken from RIMS, the people of Keibul and its surrounding area took out a protest rally in condemnation of the killing.

A public meeting was also held later at Keibul Awang Sangram denouncing such senseless killing.

According bereaved family members, S Angouba was an innocent person.

He was married and left behind a daughter.

His wife is also in advance stage of pregnancy.

Angouba had been picked up by some unidentified persons from the house at around 7 pm on January 26.
