CCpur looks to defuse situation

Imphal, January 30: Following the ultimatum served by four student bodies that they would close down all Government institutions from tomorrow to protest the step motherly treatment meted out by the State Govt to the people of Churachandpur, the district administration has lined up a meeting with the student leaders to work out a solution.

When contacted by The Sangai Express the DC of CCpur AK Sinha said, "My office will hold a meeting with the student leaders tomorrow to discuss the matter particularly the demands raised by them." The student bodies are up in arms demanding regular power supply and decried the manner in which a transformer meant for the CCpur was diverted to Bishnupur.

The DC assured that the transformer would be re-located to CCpur in no time.
