MLA inspects Tousem development

Imphal, January 30: MLA of Tamei A/C Z mangaibou has inspected the developmental works at Tousem sub-division and flagged off bus service connecting the remote sub-divisional headquarters with Jiribam for the first time on January 27.Initiated under the auspices of Tousem Area Development Committee, the bus service would be operational on alternate days.

Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, the MLA expressed hope that the bus service would help the villagers in improving their financial condition with new scope for trade and commerce.

Later, the MLA inspected the progress of the construction works being taken up at Tousem Headquarters like 33 KV Power Sub-Station, Tousem High School building and Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC).

Earlier on January 26, the MLA reportedly opened the Tamenglong-Tousem-Haflong road which has been made motorable.

On January 25, Mangaibou had also reportedly surveyed the condition of bridges located across Barak and Makru for taking up necessary improvement work.

The MLA also dedicated the newly developed Longchai village playground to the villagers on January 28.
