Lamka, January 30:
A wood-laden truck bearing registration number MN 01/5705 turned turtle while trying to climb a slope at the NH-150 stretch between Hengkot and Khotuh, about 20 kms from here.
The owner of the truck is identified as one M Megha Chandra of Serou presently residing at Family lane, CCpur .
The CCpur bound truck from Leijangphai, Thanlon Sub-Division was reportedly negotiating a slope when it slipped and over turned.
One Seingam (38) s/o (L) Jangkhothang of New Pangsang, succumbed to his injuries while on the way to CCpur District Hospital and his wife Kimneilhing (27) was critically injured and rushed here by an Army vehicle.
Four passengers, identified as Paukhosuon of Leijangphai, Phanem of Ngamphabung, Niengneichong and Niengtinlhing, both from New Pangsang were also brought to the Dist.
Hospital here later in the evening.
Some of them are reportedly said to be in a critical condition.
Witnesses said that at least four of the injured were struck under the woods, taking at least an hour to remove their bodies.
