Dimapur, January 05 (NNN):
The United Naga Council (UNC) has said that the killing of T Thangthuam, IGP (Intelligence) by the RPF/PLA of Manipur based outfit at Oinam bazar under Bishnupur district (Manipur) on December-31 was a pre-planned one.
In a statement today, the Naga body said that the UNC could not accept the claim of the RPF/PLA that the attack on the IGP was unintentional and unfortunate and that it was a mistake.
The UNC said that it was never a mistake but charged that the killing was intentional.
Ridiculing the RPF/PLA claim, the UNC said that the outfit's claim that the IGP convoy drove into the ambush zone laid for Indian security force was just an excuse.
The UNC said that the statement of the PLA appears to be an afterthought claim only after the mob fury broke out in Churachandpur district.
