Clarifying that six persons arrested by CRPF personnel on December 31 last from Dimapur are in no way related to any UG group, the Imphal Moreh Road Unemployed Development Association contended they are members of the Association.
Talking to media persons today at Lilong, chief advisor of the Association and president of Lilong Keithel, Abdul Rajaudin informed that the six persons - Md Ayajudin (30) of Thoubal Moijing, Md Akalam (26) Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi, Md Riyajudin (32) of Keirao Makting, Md Azad Khan of Lilong Turel Ahanbi (30), Md Failure Karim (41) of Kyamgei Awang Leikai and Md Riyaj Khan of Lilong Kaleikhong - were apprehended from an apartment near Hong Kong market, Dimapur following arrest of two activists of an underground group based in Manipur.
The advisor further denied news report that Azad Khan is a leader of proscribed PULF.
In this connection, an informal petition has been submitted to the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly after which the Speaker urged the SP of Dimapur to release them.
A similar petition would be submitted to the Chief Minister, stated Rajaudin.
