Imphal, January 05:
The People's United Liberation Front has hailed the reunification of the two factions of PREPAK and added that this a fitting tribute to its late leaders Meiraba and Khomba.
In a statement, the outfit said that it was optimistic that PREPAK will be able to patch up their internal differences to befit the legacy left behind by leaders like Meiraba.
PULF did not have the opportunity to meet PREPAK in the early days, but it knew that Meiraba was a man who believed in unity and who dreamt of seeing a unified movement.
Unity amongst the social organisations, meira paibis and youth fronts was his aspirations, added the statement.
The outfit also rubbished the claim that the security force busted a camp of PULF at Dimapur on January 1 and clarified that PULF does not have camps at Dimapur.
The men arrested by the CRPF are all Moreh traders, said the outfit and accused the security force of shooting the driver of the vehicle and another cloth trader.
Both are in hospital.
To cover up their misdeeds, the security personnel then raided Manipuri hotels and picked up a number of people on false charges, said PULF and added that none of the arrested are linked with the outfit.
On the assassination of M Indrasen, PULF said that it knew that he rose as a social worker and it was because of this that the outfit had tolerated the refusal of the Indo-Myanmar Friendship, Tourist Chamber and Commerce to meet the monetary demands served on them.
No reasonable reason was given by the traders' body, it said and added that Indrasen too had joined the Indian mainstream politics by enrolling in a National party.
The demand of PULF was to make the traders' body pay the monetary demand and nothing else, said the statement and added that Indrasen was killed due to the refusal of the businessmen to pay up.
