The Guwahati High Court Imphal bench has issued an order asking the State to produce Lungnila Elizabeth's murder accused Th Nando and N Rome Meitei before the court on March 7.Justice MBK Singh, in his life bench sitting passed the judgement yesterday following a petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The writ challenged the earlier order of the Addl CJM Imphal that rejected the CBI application to conduct mental analysis test on the two persons at Forensic Science Laboratory Gandhinagar.
Addl CJM rejected the application on Nov 23 2004 maintaining that it had no jurisdiction to entertain the plea for such test, said case dossiers.
CBI wants the two to get narco analysis, psycho analysis and lie detection tests to establish the veracity of their statements.
The duo are presently lodged at Sajiwa Jail.
While ordering the State Govt to produce the duo, the court also called the relevant records of the case for hearing the case on the same date (March 7).CBI counsel K Bipinchandra Sharma appeared in the present case.
Urea seized: Police personnel of Pallel police outpost arrested two persons and seized 20 bags of urea from a truck (MN 01-6203) at Pallel on Feb 27.The urea bags were on its way to Myanmar.
The two arrested persons are Thounaojam Manitombi (40) of Keirak Leirak Achouba and Kangujam Lakshman (28) of Khongman Okram Chuthek.
