TRAU (Tiddim road), MPSC and SSU (Singjamei) won their respective second round matches in the 6th S Birendra Super Division Football League 2005 being played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
TRAU, who began its campaign with a 1-1 draw against SSU, today fetched maximum points subduing a late challenge from Sagolband United when Romi fired in the opener one minute before the interval and Sabir Ali doubled the double in the 62nd minute.
Even as SU equalised through Kamei Anand (68th), TRAU held onto their slender lead to emerge victors.
SU had also lost its first outing against MPSC.
In contrast, the police team registered its second consecutive win blanking SAI RC 2-0.After Kh Romen broke the first half stalemate with a 58th minute strike Rohen guaranteed the comfortable win knocking in the second police goal in the 72nd.The keenly contested last match of the day between SSU and NACO, Nambul Mapal witnessed the former race to a 3-0 lead with David Kamson scoring two of the team goals in the 10th and 34th minutes.
Banny Chiru bulged the lead to 3-0 in the 39th.A revitalised NACO began the second half with Seizalal Haokip bridging the goal deficit three minutes into play while Lempa Kom put the Nambul Mapal outfit within sight of pulling off a miraculous draw scoring the second in the 75th minute.
