Imphal, September 27: Troops of 22 Maratha Light Infantry under the aegis of 9 Sector Assam Rifles seized 600 litres of illicit liquor today on NH-53 from an auto rickshaw bearing number plate MN-04-9462.The seized liquor was destroyed at the site of seizure in presence of local Meira Paibi�s and police authorities.

The auto and the driver was handed over to the local police authorities at Patsoi, said a PIB (DW) press release.

In another incident, the same unit seized 10 tons of illegal timber on NH-150 being transported in a truck bearing number plate MN-02-0176.
