Section of the teaching community are waiting with bated breathe the release of their pending salaries as departmental procedure to clear salary payment is being shadowed by overdraft of the State following intense transaction with the relaxation of RBI ban.
The teaching community faced with another bout of pay delay belongs to schools under Imphal West Zone-I whose salaries for over four month were held up due to department officials� goof-up in office concerned-Treasury Office processes.
Even though the salaries were previously held up owing to verification process in order to identify fake appointments in the Education (S) Department completion of the same had resulted with the State authorities recently issuing an order for release of May-August emoluments, informed source said.
The source, however, cited official lethargy and departmental flaws in submitting pay bill to the Treasury Office as main the reason for the Zone-I employees being deprived of their salaries in alarming frequencies.
It also revealed of hectic work to at least ensure release of May to August salaries before RBI re-imposes restriction on government transactions which is the normal practice when overdraft occurs.
With the Congress-led SPF Government able to periodically convince the Congress led Central coalition in tiding over financial constraints and State department employees reaping the benefit for the last many months the same cannot be described of the Education (S) Department employees who were put on test to authenticate their employment status and such wrangling always putting even genuine teachers suffer ignominy of monthly salary denials.
