Imphal, February 14: Manipuri Students' Federation and meira paibis have launched a joint drive against drug abuse and other pharmaceutical substance abuse from today.

On the first day of the drive by members of MSF Uripok Branch and Uripok Achom Leikai Meira Paibi Lup, a large quantity of liquor and Ganja seized from different places were destroyed by setting on fire.

Talking to mediapersons at the head office of MSF this afternoon, vice president of the Uripok body O Tombi Devi said the drive has been launched out of necessity to save the youngsters from falling easy prey to drug and other harmful substances.

Efforts would be made to cover the entire State, she asserted.

the joint drive yielded seizure of 300 litres of liquor and some quantity of Ganja from various hotels located at Andro Parking, Lamphel Super Market and Langol Games Village, she informed.
