Stray bullet hits young girl

Imphal, February 14: A personnel of the 35 Assam Rifles and a 12 year old girl sustained injuries during a clash between troopers of the AR unit and suspected cadres of the NSCN (K) at Murtikhullen, located about 7 kilometres east of Nungba police station, at about 11.30 pm of February 12.The Ar personnel hurt in the clash is informed to be one TH Samsung (No 3500893), and the girl said to have been wounded by a stray bullet is identified as Kashingliu.

The stray bullet hit Kashingliu on the back while she was asleep. The critically wounded girl is informed to be currently undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital.

One shot dead
IMPHAL, Feb 14 : Unidentified gunmen shot dead a man at Mishihoubi village near Khurkhul this morning.

The incident site is located under Sekmai police station.

The victim has been identified as one namchalung Gangmei (35) s/o Hundi Gangmei from Tamenglong district headquarters but was staying at Mantripukhri.

According to press source, Namchalung was abducted by about four armed persons in a Maruti car on February 12 morning.

A bullet hit the victim on the forehead.
