Kuki Liberation Army has expressed strong displeasure at the shooting and wounding of general secretary of AMWJU Ratan Luwangcha by a revolutionary group and appealed to all outfits to abstain from taking such action on mediapersons in future.
In a statement, KLA's information and publicity secretary Malsom Kuki said 'in today's world journalists and their jobs is as important as you and I who have sacrificed all of our pleasures for the cause of the motherland, therefore due regard and leniency should be accorded to them even if they happened to hurt the feeling of any particular organisation'.
The Kuki National Front (T Samuel) has also strongly condemned the attack on Ratan Luwangcha saying such attack on scribe is condemnable by all.
Information secretary of the outfit Th Shaddai Lhungdim while reiterating its stand on press and media said that journalists are the most respectable group of the society and such attack is against the democratic values.
