Cataract camp held Ukhrul

Imphal, March 18 2010:
Under the Shija Mission for Vision, Shija Eye Care Foundation in association with Comprehensive Health Service and Research Centre today conducted an eye-care camp to detect eye cataract at Hamneikhong in Ukhrul district.
In the camp which examined to around 145 people, 18 of them were found suffering from cataract disease.
Out of 18 patients, nine of them who require operations have been brought to Imphal for treatment.
Three more such camps will be conducted at different places of Ukhrul district under the mission which aimed at control of blindness.
The project in Ukhrul district is the third phase.
The camps will be held at Ukhrul on April 6, at Somtal on April 22 and at Phungyar on May 20 next.
