Imphal, March 18 2010:
A free medical camp was organised by 33 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 57 Mtn Divn for the fishermen community residing in and around Thanga in Bishnupur district today.
The medical camp started from 9 am and continued till 3 pm.
A total of 410 persons including 125 women and 50 children were examined and treated for diarrhoea, dysentery, respiratory tract infections, viral fever, skin diseases, arthralgias and myalgias, etc.
Free medicines were also distributed to the families.
The medical camp was conducted by 33 Assam Rifles with assistance of three doctors, Capt Rahmani Sumbul Khan of 357 Field Ambulance, Maj MI Singh, RMO and Dy Comdt Dr TT Singh, SMO of 33 Assam Rifles, who provided medical relief to a large number of people, stated a press release from the PIB (DW).
