To systematise the prayer offerings by Amaibas and Amaibis at the sacred spots within Kangla, the State Govt has constituted a Kangla sub-committee today.
The decision to constitute the sub-committee was taken during a meeting of the Kangla Fort Board held at its office at Kangla with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair.
The main task of the sub-committee will be to monitor the prayer offerings made by the Amaibas and Amaibis at the sacred sites within the Fort.
Prof S Nilabir has been appointed as the Chairman of the sub-committee.
The sub-committee has been entrusted with the task of drawing up the required regulations to allow the Amaibas and Amaibis to offer prayers at the sacred sites.
The meeting also decided to allow the public to visit Kangla from March from 9 am till 4 pm.
The entry fee for children has been fixed at Re 1 while for adults the fee is Rs 2.The Board also decided to levy a sum of Re 1 for cycle, Rs 3 for two wheelers and Rs 5 for four wheelers to enter Kangla.
As per the decision of the Board today, an integrity pillar is set to come up at Kekrupat as well to rope in the service of qualified architects.
The memorial sites of the June martyrs will be left untouched.
An expert committee will also be formed to instal Kangla Sha at the historic fort.
The meeting also decided to dismantle the office of the Water Supply Employees Union and a Sports office located opposite to the PWD at Kangla.
The cinema hall of the Assam Rifles built inside Kangla will be converted into a Kangla Hall and the Board also agreed to lease out the hall at a price from time to time to earn revenue and help in the maintenance of the historic Fort.
However the Board will screen the nature of the programme to be staged at the hall minutely.
The meeting also discussed on'the possibility of putting certain checks on religious programmes inside Kangla.
The Board however agreed to allow the observance of religious functions such as Pakhangba Chenghongba, Mera Houchongba and Hiyang Tannaba inside Kangla.
The meeting also minutely discussed the observance of Puya Meithaba.
