All the text books prescribed for classes VI to VIII would be made available within this month, according to press source.
Informing that the development came during a meeting convened today by the Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa and attended by Commissioner (Education) P Bharat as well as Chairman and officials of Board of Secondary Education Manipur, the source said at present 26 texts books could be purchased from the market.
With the exception of Manipuri version of the remaining 20 text books others would also be available within February 15 and the rest within the same month, added the source.
The meeting also discussed on processes to release Rs 2 crore to enable BSEM authorities complete text books preparations expeditiously.
In contrast, a BSEM source disclosed that delay in preparation of the text books is due to non provision in" budgetary allocation inspite of the fact that State Govt had earmarked Rs 2 crore for the purpose.
