Imphal, February 04:
Expressing great dissatisfaction at the failure of the concerned Dept to complete the developmental works undertaken in the State under the twenty point programme of the Indian Govt, Programme Implementing Committee's Chairman Y Mani has directed all the Head of Departments of the concerned Depts to speed up and complete the developmental works within the shortest possible time.
Talking to The Sangai Express today, Y Mani informed that many of the Depts which had undertaken development works with funds from the Central Govt under the Twenty point programme have failed to meet the target set for completion of their respective works.
The chairman of the committee also added that some of the HoDs who had attended the committee's recent meeting had informed that most of the depts were not able to implement the development programmes as the State Finance Department had failed to release the funds even though the central Government had released the required funds in time.
Elaborating on the factors responsible for the delay in implementing the development programmes, Mani stated that diversion of Central Govt's funds meant for the development programmes, unstable law and order condition and apathy of the Govt officials towards the development programmes were some of the prominent factors responsible for failing to meet the target set the committee.
The Programme Implementing Committee chairman also attributed the failure of most PHED's schemes launched in the rural areas to the State Govt's failure to release funds in time.
