Some section of the temporary market shed at the Old District Hospital premises had been ordered for reconstiuction as materials used in it are found to be sub-standard.
The matter came to light when PDA Chairman K Ranjit Singh (MLA) inspected the market shed construction works this afternoon.
As some the lentils (supporting beams) were found below par from the prescribed control the same had to be dismantled with strong instructions given to PDA officials and-Engineers concerned to rebuilt the beams.
Informed sources told news-persons at the construction site that PDA Engineers had already come across flaws in construction of about 15 lentils and had even ordered dismantling of the said portion.
Talking to newspersons at the sideline of the inspection the PDA Chairman affirmed lack of quality control will not be tolerated at any cost and if such precedence continues responsibilities would be fixed against concerned officials and contractors.
He also informed that the temporary market shed would have enough space to accommodate all the ven-dors of Ima Market, New Market and Luxmi Bazar when the construction work is completed within this month.
