Imphal, January 19:
The proscribed KYKL has claimed responsibility for torching the Tata truck carrying 12 Bajaj Eliminator bikes and 5 auto-rickshaws of Manipur Motors popularly known as Mico yesterday morning near the Thangal Ecological Park in between Henbung and Mayang-khang and Ningthoupham.
In a statement the outfit said the act was carried out by cadres of its finance section and explained that the drastic action was taken as the owner of Manipur Motors, C Om Prakash had failed to honour the demand for the annual tax liable to be paid to the outfit.
Om Prakash also informed the security force and tried to get the outfit's cadres arrested charged KYKL.
Repeated reminders were also sent through the telephone, it said added that earlier a bomb was hurled at its Mantripukhri show room to drive home the message.
However this did not have any effect.
For the stubborn stand taken by Om Prakash, KYKL will now prohibit him from carrying out his trade in Manipur, said KYKL and warned that if he acts contrary to the decision of the outfit, then he should be responsible for any outcome.
