Imphal, January 19: Categorically stating that Thangjam Joy (33) of Thanga Chingkha and presently residing at Nambol bazar, who was arrested during frisking at Kwakeithel police outpost yesterday, is not connected with the KCP, the outfit today said that Joy is an impostor and is the leader of a gang involved in extorting huge amount of money from the public in the name of KCP.

In a statement, the outfit said that there have been cases when individuals, who had borrowed money for some one or some institutions but are unable to pay back the loan had taken the help of some self anointed leader of some break away group to pay back the money.

Issuing a call to all to think over the matter, KCP questioned whether such elements, who pose themselves as freedom fighters but act contrary to the philosophy of revolutionaries should be regarded as freedom fighters.

From the day it was established, KCP has never resorted to using fake seals or printing fake notes to dupe the people, said the statement adding it will never do so too in the future.
