One Ashok who shifted allegiance to the BJP from RJD recently may represent the BJP in the by-election, hinted its State unit president Dr H Borbabu.
However, the party will first make a detail study on whether Ashok can win the seat or the party should go in line with the proposal of the MPP to support Birsingh as common candidate of opposition parties, conveyed Borbabu.
RJD, NCP and CPI which are coalition partners of SPF Govt, are unlikely to field their own candidates.
Meanwhile, advocates Aribam Gourakrishna of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai and Maibam Nillachandra of Singjamei Thongam Leikai have been appointed as chairman and convenor of the MPP legal cell respectively.
