A trainer' training programme for medical doctors on substance use disorders is being organised by the Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Imphal in collaboration with Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi since December 2 and would continue till December 7.It is the third time that such training programmes is being organised at RIMS in collaboration with AIIMS.
Attended by 14 doctors from different States of the North East region, the training programme is being sponsored by World Health Organisation (I) .
The main objective of the programme is to develop a pool of medical professionals with practical skills and contemporary knowledge in treatment of substance use at the National level.
Dr Atul Ambedkar from National Drug Dependence Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi is among the nine resource persons who are conducting the training programme.
