To seek the opinion of the State Government and the political parties on the 13th Finance Commission, an official team of the Commission led by its Chairman Bijoy Kelkar would be visiting the State capital from January 20 to 23, 2009 .
Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, an official source said that ahead of the proposed visit of the Commission officials, the State Government has started taking up necessary measures.
While staying at Imphal, the Commission officials would be meeting Cabinet Ministers of the SPF Government, Government officials, leaders of the political parties and representatives of the legal bodies apart from calling on the Governor and the Chief Minister separately.
In the 13th Finance Commission, the State Government is planning to project a plan outlay of Rs 25,000 crores.
The State Govt would also be urging for providing an additional Rs 4000 crores in connection with extending the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendation to its employees.
Under the banner of the Joint Administrative Council of AMTUC and AMGEO, the Government employees are currently on strike demanding implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission.
