Imphal, November 21: The 124th birth anniversary of Guru Maisnam Amubi, noted for his contribution towards Manipuri Dance and its popularity, was observed today at MDU hall under the aegis of Research Centre for Manipur Performing Arts.

Centre president Dr N Tombi, in his address, remarked that the Guru dedicated his life for the improvisation of Manipuri Dance and to popularise Manipuri Dance in different parts of India.

Dr Tombi recounted the contribution of the Guru in the development of J N Dance Academy in addition to the establishment of 'Jagoi Marup'.
