Bodies appeal to relax strike

Imphal, November 21: While extending their support and solidarity to the cause of Manipuri Students� Federation (MSF), Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) and DM College of Science Students� Union have appealed for exemption from the purview of the general strike being called from 7 pm today to 5 pm tomorrow to protest the biased decision of the referee during the quarter-final match of the Santost trophy played between Manipur and Goa which led to the forceful exit of Manipur from the tournament.

Executive Officer IMC S Noren Singh has appealed to MSF for exemption of sanitary services of the IMC from the general strike while secretary general of DM College of Science Union Union S Manoranjan to allow free movement of the teaching , non-teaching staff of the college and the NACC team which is current on a visit to inspect the college.
