Imphal, November 21: The Bishnupur District Council of DESAM has conducted inspection of Toubul High School in which the administration and facilities of the school were found quite unfitting.

In a statement issued by the Council, it observed that many teachers have become preoccupied with their salary while overlooking their own duties.

Such deterioration of education in the State has been a result of negligence by the legislatures particularly the concerned MLAs, guided by their selfish motives, it asserted while adding that the Headmaster of the school is not competent for his job and could not set straight the derelict teachers.

In another inspection tour, the Kongba Local Council had inspected Gurupat LP school, Wakha Model PS, Naharup Balika LP school, Pangong Makhong PS and Naharup LP school.

A statement issued by the Council informed that various mismanagement and dereliction of duty by teachers were discovered such as absence of attendance register, prolonged leave/ absence by teachers, non attendance of class by both teachers and students, absence of kitchen sheds etc.

The statement appealed to the authority concerned to take corrective measures immediately.
