Imphal, September 19: The students� union of Presidency College, Motbung has endorsed the demand of the Part-Time Lecturers� Association of Government Colleges (PLAGC), Manipur for basic pay of Rs 8000 and revival of the State policy under which 108 part time lecturers had been absorbed.

The students� body also appealed to the authorities concerned for fulfilling the genuine demands of the part timers before September 29, which is the date set for launching cease work strike by the Association.

As equal work load has been allotted to the part timers as well, the cease work strike of the part-timers would certainly affect the academic careers of the students, Union general secretary H Marcel Lhouvum said in a statement.

LNNC refutes: Lamkang Naga National Council (LNNC) has refuted the claim made by the police that SK Samson Lamkang is an activist of NSCN (I-M).

In a statement Council president B Shilshi clarified that SK Samson is an innocent person and the information and publicity secretary of the Council.
