While announcing the signing of a peace pact with the Govt of India in August this year, Kuki National Organisation (KNO) has informed that many revolutionary organisations have become one with it and joined the peace process.
In a statement today, KNO president PS Haokip said that Kuki National Army (KNA), Kuki National Front (Zogam), Kuki National Front (Military Council) and United Socialist Revolutionary Army (USRA) which have joined hands with KNO will form the armed wing of KNO.
Other Kuki revolutionary organisations which would like to be part of the movement to find an amicable solution with the Govt of India are welcome, the statement said, while defining Kuki as inclusive of all the ethnic groups/tribes as in the pre-British period.
The statement maintained that KNO is seeking to resolve the problems of the Kuki people within the frame-work of the Constitution of India and it stands to honour the ceasefire within the Central Govt and anticipates speedy progress in reaching a suitable solution.
KNO also appreciated the assurance given by the Govt of India with regard to implementation of various development projects as part of the ceasefire agreement, the statement added.
