Imphal, October 14:
Greeting the PREPAK on the occasion of its 28 foundation day, the proscribed KCP has stated that efforts taken up by PREPAK to mend fences and work out the differences between its two groups is an example worth emulating.
In a statement, KCP said that it acknowledges PREPAK as one of the pioneering revolutionary outfits of the land and as a group which is there to uphold all revolutionary ideals and which is ever ready to help other revolutionary groups.
Citing an example, the statement said that in 2003 PREPAK extended all the help it could to comrades of KCP when efforts were made to unite the KCP factions at Sajik Tampak.
The role played by PREPAK in the unification efforts of KCP will be etched in history, added the statement.
KCP further said that it fully supports the general strike called by the MPLF on Oct 15 to protest the merger of Manipur with India.
On KCP (P), the statement said that after the death of Ibohanbi, the outfit split into many factions and the KCP (P) was a splinter group from the group headed by the president of the outfit.
KCP (P) was led by the late comrade Boicha alias Prithibi, said the statement and added that after his death KCP (P) began to indulge in anti-people activities.
Today UNLF has extended the ban on KCP (City Meitei) and KCP (Emoinu) as well.
The UNLF and KYKL have not only banned KCP (P) but even some cadres of KCP (P) have been eliminated.
All these unsavoury developments have come about because there is no leader fit enough to lead the KCP, said the statement and added that the president should bear the responsibility.
Citing an example the statement said that on September 11, the president and the general secretary met and announced the unification of the KCP.
This was however unacceptable to the other members of the Central Committee as they were not invited for the meeting.
If the president is really keen on working for the welfare of the outfit then why weren't the other members of the CC informed of the meeting, charged the statement.
The remaining cadres of KCP (P), KCP (City Meitei) and KCP (Emoinu) were asked to contact the home secretary of the KCP Lamphel Luwangcha within October this year.
Parents and elders were also urged to hand over their children and wards to the KCP.
The outfit also urged the UNLF and KYKL to extend all their help in this endeavour and added that KCP will extend all its help and co-operation to UNLF and KYKL as far as dealing with the KCP (P) is concerned.
