Imphal, October 14: The State Government has decided to provide jobs in Manipur Police Service in the rank of Sub-Inspector to MC Mary Kom, who won a gold medal in the 3rd World Women�s Boxing Championship held recently at Podolsk near Moscow in Russia and L Sarita Chanu who clinched a bronze medal in the same championship, but under different categories.

Though the State Government has not issued an official order in this connection, a reliable source disclosed to The Sangai Express that the announcement of job offer would be made during a reception function to be organised in honour of the two women boxing champions on October 19 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium at 2.30 pm.

From the side of the Govt, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh will present incentive award of Rs 1 lakh to Mary Kom and Rs 50,000 to Sarita for their gold and bronze medal winning feats in the 46 kg and the 54 kg category respectively.

To enable the public and Government officials to take part in the reception function being organised with a view to encourage the State players, the State Government is also likely to declare half holiday on October 19, the source said.
