Chili pepper from Indian state Bihar has to reach Myanmar first before distributing in the market in Imphal even though it passes Imphal in transporting to Myanmar.
People here are preferred it as imported item imported from Myanmar.

Wonderful businesses are growing up in the international trade at Moreh and Namphalong market of Myanmar.
Among other, chili pepper business is also one.
Businessmen are importing chili pepper from Bihar and exporting the same in Myanmar through Imphal.
The pepper were brought to Imphal by the businessmen again and selling in the local markets as import item from Myanmar.
The pepper has high demand in the market in Imphal.
Businessmen in the state, specially non-locals are importing chili peppers from Bihar and exporting to Myanmar as part of international trade only to re-import to the state.
The process is only making more profit apparently as they could sell at higher price luring customers posing the same as foreign goods.
Investigation into the business revealed that two to three loads of Bihar chili pepper are exporting to Myanmar per day.
These pepper where re-loaded from godowns in Imphal where businessmen stored after importing from Bihar.
Again, businessmen of Myanmar distributed the chili pepper at Namphalong market where small time businessmen bought it and bring back to Imphal for selling in the Imphal market.
These small time businessmen buy the chili at rate upto Rs 150 to 170 per choi (a unit to measure weight use by Burmese businessmen equivalent to 1.6 kg).
Burmese businessmen get a profit of Rs 30 to Rs 40 in the business.
