Union government has decided to install High Check Electronic Surveillance System at the international border gates.
An official source here at state home department said the same will also be installed at Indo-Myanmar border gates.
The high check post aimed at checking import of arms, drugs and other illegal items across the border.
The union government has taken the decision on December 8 last, the source at the state home department further said.
One of the main problems facing at the international border with Myanmar in the state is the cross border smuggling of arms by the underground elements at international trade centre in Moreh.
Equipments of the High Check Electronic Surveillance include Hand Held Thermo Imager, Battle Field Surveillance Radar, Long Range Reconnaissance and Observable System (LORROS), Spotter Scope and Night Vision Devises etc.
Steps for installation of the high check electronic surveillance has started taken up at the border gates in Moreh, the source added.
