A three day nature orientation camp organised by Loktak Lake Environment Conservation Centre under the sponsorship of Loktak Development Authority at Children Model Academy, Thanga Khunjem Leikai concluded today.
Speaking at the occasion, Thanga A/C MLA T Mangibabu observed that the State is facing a situation of serious ecological imbalance due to carelessness of the foregoing generations.
Highlighting the issue of global warming, Mangibabu said that every one should share the responsibility of maintaining ecological balance.
Fishermen should not exploit Loktak lake only for their own benefit.
They should pay more attention in the efforts to save the lake.
Stressing on the importance of understanding the roles of nature in human existence, the MLA who is also the chief whip of the SPF Government said that more such nature orientation camps should be organised to create awareness about nature among the mass.
The closing function of the camp was presided by LDA Project Director Th Ibobi.
Around 60 campers attended the camp.
