Imphal, September 28: Director of Art and Culture Dr Kh Sorojini Devi has inaugurated an Institution of the Kom Traditional Music at Khoirentak Khuman under Henglep A/C of Churachandpur district today.

The function was organised by Kom Cultural Dance and Research Centre under the sponsorship of North East Zone Cultural centre, Dimapur and Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur.

Besides Dr Sorojini, Joint Director of Art and Culture Dr K Sobita who was also present as a guest of honour inaugurated an Ethnological Museum at the village.

Director of Tribal Museum and Research Centre, Sagolband Y Gyaneshwor was the other guest of honour of the function. Expresident of Komrem Union E Leivon presided over the function.

Achon Kom was felicitated with title of Guru under the GuruShishya Parampara Scheme at the function.
