Imphal, September 28: In connection with the 109th birth anniversary of Jananeta Irabot various organisations have informed of making elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the celebration even as report of observing the anniversary trickles in.

Under the auspices of Irabot Celebration, Kumbi Local Council the anniversary celebration was held today at Kumbi Bazar wherein Commerce and Industries minister N mangi speaking as the chief guest regretted that present day Manipur society is far from the ideals and objectives of Hijam Irabot.

in contrast to Irabot's aspiration for an egalitarian society based on equal contribution from all section of the society Manipur today is passing through a complex phase in which every single organisation is pursuing its own course regardless of the consequences, said the Minister.

He observed that people of Manipur could live in peace and abundance only when students' stick to their academic duties, farmers devote maximum time in attending to their fields and every individual or group enact their respective roles to script a new chapter of the State.

He also called upon the society to comprehend where the State is heading at the present juncture in the face of almost every group unhesitatingly advocating confrontationist step to make their point instead of embracing path of peace and reconciliatory approach. Mere observance of Irabot's birth or death anniversaries with unity of the people nowhere evident is demeaning the very cause and sacrifice of the pioneer figure who always believed in unity, said Mangi.

Presentation of cultural items, march past and spot painting competitions were the other highlight of the Kumbi celebration. CPI Kumbi Local Council also celebrated the birth anniversary at its office premise.

Meanwhile, for smooth conduct of the 109th Irawat birth anniversary celebration 2005 the Irawat Celebration Committee has appealed to all the public carriers to assemble at Irawat Bhavan and join the rally.

Buses transporting march past contingents are informed to proceed towards Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and drop the participants at the Dingku Road while the participants are to assemble at the adjacent practice field before entering from Gate No 4.The birth anniversary will be celebrated on September 30 from 11.30 am onwards at the Main Stadium. on the other hand, All India Students' Federation - Bishnupur Zonal Council, Committee for Drug Abuse Prevention (Sega Road) and Manipur Forward youth Front have also made separate arrangements to observe the birth anniversary at different locations.

Prize distribution: On the occasion of 109th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabat prizes would be distributed to 65 selected students of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa kendra who secured first division marks in the class X and XII examinations.

Three sportspersons of the same kendra would also be honoured on the occasion, informed Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Kendra Clubs' Coordinating Committee.
