Imphal, September 28: Imphal East District police have reportedly apprehended an activist of the proscribed UNLF during cordon and search operation at JN Hospital Campus, Porompat at around 12.45 pm today.

The activist has been identified as Chingangbam Naobi alias Chand (30) s/o late Ch Chaoba of Itham Nungei.

He joined the outfit in Dec 2004 through one self styled corporal Jilla of UNLF, said police source.

The source further informed that one PREPAK activist identified as Amakcham Naocha alias Raju (25) s/o of A Samu of Kongba Kshetri Leikai was nabbed from Pangal Leirak along Ayangpalli Road on Sep 26.Naocha joined PREPAK in 2004 through one Bradrajit s/o Mira of Kongba Bazar and Guru of Thabalkhong Laishram Leikai.

On the other hand, Police commandos od Bishnupur police today arrested a UNLF cadre from Ningthoukhong today at about 6 am, said police soruces.

The cadre is identified as Moirangthem Bimolchand alias Roshan alias Melei of Sugnu Turel Wangma.
