To exchange information and check trafficking of drugs along the Indo-Myanmar border, a meeting of officials of India and Myanmar was held yesterday at the border town, reports our correspondent.
The Indian delegation was headed by M Sushil kumar, Superintendent NAB.
The other members included Lt Col Madhu Menon, 2-I-C, 24 Assam Rifles, DM Das, SP Customs Preventive, Moreh, RK Bumindro, DRI, Lalthanglien, Intelligence officer, NCP, Lalsawnlien, Int officer, NCB, Md Bashir, SI, Moreh police station.
The Myanmarese side was led by Aung Htein, DSP, Tamu, U Hye Than, Deputy Director, Immigration, Cap Aung Kyan Tint, Ministry Security officer, U Aye Min, Kalaymeo, Staff officer, Custom, Aung koko, Deputy Township officer, Tamu and Pol Lt Myint Aung, Anti-narcotic Spl Task Force.
During the meeting the Indian delegation assured the Myanmarese side of extending full cooperation in investigating drug related cases to the extent that it will provide photos of persons involved in drug trafficking.
Another meeting will be held on October 29 at Tamu.
