Imphal, February 12: Minister of Agriculture Ph Parijat has cautioned on the harmful effects of excessive use of chemical fertilizers.

While addressing a one day farmers awareness camp today at Takyel Kolom Leikai, Ph Parijat remarked that even though chemical fertilizers enhance crop productivity, it produces severe harmful effects to the health of human and other consumers.

Quoting agriculture experts, the minister remarked that the excessive use of chemical fertilizers has resulted in plants being infested with toxic substances and the problem has become life-threatening.
