A team of Hmar Youth Association (HYA), Imphal, joint headquarters led by its president Ngursangluoi visited the inhabitants of Parbung, Tuolbung, Damdiei, Lungthulien and Maulien villages of Churachandpur district who are taking presently shelter at Sakawrdai, Vaitin and Khawpuor of Mizoram since January 7.According to a statement issued by the Association, as per the register maintained by Young Mizo Association (YMA), the number of people who are taking shelter at Sakawrdai has risen to 444, 153 at Vaitin and 187 at Khawpuor with three more families arriving in the first week of this month.
The visiting team provided financial and medical aid worth about Rs 50,000 for the displaced which were handed over to the YMA units concerned.
The team also visited the relief camps which were newly set up by the Government of Mizoram and urged the authority concerned for better construction.
